Amherst Railway Society Train show at the Big E Jan 24 and 25

I forgot, a meet at the OGR booth say 2pm for a photo shoot?

Weather permitting I plan on being there. Where is everyone meeting Gary? 

2:00 PM at the OGR booth sounds good to me. Hopefully they will not be snowed out this year. Looking forward to seeing the whole gang.

Lionel will be there this year in the better living center.

The Steaming Tender is probably about 1/2 hour away. It's an interesting place with good food. I think I learned of it here on this board, and have eaten there several times. IMHO, it is well worth the detour.

Big bummer, that I will not be going.  Since my move to Fla, just too far.  I always enjoyed this show, just an hour drive from my old home.

So long as we don't get one of those Maine blizzards, we will be there.

That goes without saying.  As for the Steaming Tender great place to eat.  I'll be there next weekend.

 

Another no show is Justrains, they were there last year but are not listed this year.  Trainz.com I think this will be their first year.

Is this show just manufactures or is this a show that has used tables also.  I don't like dealer booths too much.  No good deals

The are manufacturers, stores, and hobbiests. So there are display only tables, and a mixture of new and used merchandise.

I wouldn't bother with a show that was all manufactures and retail establishments.
I try to make Springfield every year.

OGR will not have a booth at this show this year.

Rich that's two years in a row. What's up? OGR is on the list, you must of paid money to reserve a table 

It sounds more of retail there.  Are there def  a lot of used private sales?

What's the best day to go

We have a number of big projects getting started right now. Consequently, the only OGR staffer that is free to go to this show is Ed Boyle, and the booth can't be staffed by just one guy. Combine that with the ever-present problem of nasty winter weather in the mountains of PA along I-80 and the result is that we're going to take a pass on this one.

I can't wait . The show is great and eating at the  red rose restaurant after makes for a perfect day. Gary's  recomendation of this restaurant ranks as the best  info I have ever received on the forum! John

The Big E is a totally amazing train show. If you have not attended, you are in for a treat ! Lots of craftsman level layouts and great manufacturers. This is my favorite show and that includes that other show in York, PA.

Both days are great. However, I have always gone on Sunday, until last year. When I went both days and still found great deals

What's the diffence in days.  Sat will prob have better selection right?

I will be there. Last year we took the photos at Ross Custom Switches' booth.

get them in advance and parking is $5

It is cheaper in advanced though?   What happens if I have to change the day

I got the two day pass last year and it's cheaper in advance
