SGL was owned by a fellow from Chesapeake, Va. I have his information, but won't put it out over the forum.

He imported an Oscale Reading Co. G-3 and some Reading Co. passenger cars. I have the 2-rail locomotive, but not the cars. They were very well made and very accurate. The engine was a fine runner and I added DCC and sound to it, as they did no come so equipped.

He stopped doing business many years ago. The unconfirmed story I have heard was that the Chinese factory that made the locomotives wanted him to accept a large quantity he was unable to afford. He was able to buy a reduced amount and was comfortable selling this amount. The Chinese wanted him to purchase more (apparently they made a large amount of them and were looking to cover their expenses), but he did not see the market for them. The Chinese got an "attitude" and flooded the market, undercutting his prices by about 50%.  Needless to say, he couldn't compete and went out of business and lost a lot of money in the process.

How true this story is, I'm not sure. This is about all I remember. Perhaps, someone a little closer to the source can set us straight.
