Excuse for the moment the poor pictures but I will post more once I get them running on my layout behind my 225e. I just received these wood scratch built cars from ebay. The workmanship is beautiful and from the markings and prewar trucks I would say they were made between 1935 and 1942.  I like to prowl ebay like its a train show and I have not seen cars like these before. The price was very reasonable and I snatched them up.

Can any prewar train historians out there share any insight to these cars?

I love seeing this stuff; it harkens back to the prewar era when some wanted more realistic looking equipment. A model builder, for sure.

Thank you everyone for the kind comments! I reached back to the ebay seller but he  had no information on who made them except t say he was glad to see they went to a good home.  I will certainly honor this unknown gentleman every time I run them on my layout.

Great stuff. Love the tanker with it's glued on paper lettering.

Trains like that can go two ways...tossed in the trash because they're not 'real' manufactured trains from a known maker...or given a new lease on life,  once again rolling down the rails and giving pleasure to the appreciative. So glad they found their way to the right home.

Hey I'm glad someone finally bought those cars!!  I've been watching them for months literally!.  Hoping the price came down.  Someone did a nice job on them, I really like this style of prewar kit/hi-rail or what every you would call it.  I have some similar cars as well that I like to run. That front track are all on prewar trucks.
