Thanks Alan! Glad to be a part of this wonderful Forum! Looking forward to sharing with you some exciting news about several upcoming projects in the works! Stay tuned everyone!
Nice layout in your store guys. I like the way the store is laid out as well. Wish I lived closer.
Regards,
John
Thank you Tom, Larry and Tim for becoming Forum sponsors!! I think Svengoulie put your town Berwyn on the map! Kidding aside, you have a nice Website and store too! I wish I lived closer too, but that's a haul from Northwestern Pennsylvania.
Thank you Alan!!
Just wanted to add that I believe Berwyn's Toys and Trains is our first Chicago land/area sponsor on the forum!
Welcome and thanks!
Grew up in Berwyn in from the 1940's to the 1972. My local hobby shop was Winsor Hobby Center on the corner of Winsor Ave and Clinton, across the street for the Burlington tracks. Spent many hours there and many dollars as well. The owner, Bob (don't remember his last name) was a great guy and always willing to help me.
I now live on the west coast and do miss certain aspects of the old town: White Sox, Blackhawks, and the CB&Q. Don't miss the winters.
Good luck and continued success to you guys at Berwyn's Toys and Trains.
RAY
For the twenty years we have lived in the Chicago area, Berwyn Toys and Trains has been our 'go to' store for purchasing and repairing our model railroad cars and engines. John in Lansing, ILL
Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! Located just an easy 12 miles east of Downtown Chicago on Historic Route 66 none the less!

BERWYN?!
(Sorry, SOMEBODY hadda do it!)
Mitch
Make sure you introduce yourself the next time we see you John in Lansing! You seem to escape our radar!
We remember Windsor Hobbies too! It was a staple in the old "Depot District" of Berwyn!
Svengoulie has put "Ber-Wyn" on the map, but so has Al Capone!
Stay in touch for our upcoming announcement (s) !!
Welcome and thanks for being an OGR Forum Sponsor! Looks like a fantastic store.
One of my favorite brick and mortar stores. I always try to visit when I'm in the area.
Welcome, Tom et al. I used to frequent the store back when you were on Harlem Ave. and we lived in the area. I occasionally see you set up at DuPage. Glad you're sponsoring the Forum!
Very nice store and well worth a visit if you are in the area or passing through.
After viewing all the pics, I must say very nice and well stocked. If I'm ever out that way I will stop by.
I was just there last week. Great shop! Tons of postwar and some nice American Flyer items.
Berwyn!!
These guys are my LHS. Great people to deal with and have a nice inventory/prices on the inventory. Hit them up if you're looking for something. I'm in there too frequently, and I think they know me too well, but still put up with my visits .
I want to add if I ever go through the Chicago area, I will make it a point to stop in. I've never been in Northern Illinois.
Was going to say BERWYN!, but thought that would get me booted off the forum....
Yikes - where did all those classic cars come from - 1975 or cruise night ?

Welcome aboard! That store looks like a re-purposed late 40/ early 50s drug store. But 12 miles EAST? One would need a submarine to visit! I suspect you meant west.
Congrats Dave! You caught the joke! Thanks!
Hey !! Congratulations and welcome Tom, Larry and Tim! Glad you are here. Really appreciate you helping to sponsor this great forum.

Dang it! Now here I sit 12 miles EAST of Chicago and my car is filling up with water and it's cold!
The hobby shop is on Ogden ave, which is part of historic rte. 66, and they have a car show on a Sat. in August (when there's no pandemic) and the street is blocked off for about 6 blocks. Hence, the vintage iron.
Chicago was known as the railroad capital of the world at one time. We're going to try to bring that title back! Check out our first, of many, new announcements here on the forum!
One of the top train stores in the area. Lots of inventory and good for repairs. It’s also clean and organized which I like.
Welcome aboard!!!
I didn't see an inventory list anyplace on the website, so guess you would have to inquire if a product was on the shelf??
I noticed the same thing rrman

That's correct! We prefer the old fashion way.....call and talk to a real person! Email is okay too. We flush through our inventory rather fast that it doesn't justify having a point of purchase site at this time! We buy to sell!

That works! Thank you!
I purchased my first CB&Q Zephyr from Berwyn in 1996.
MTH Premier CB&Q F3 ABA 9960ABC with 60' plated-aluminum California Zephyr cars.
I later purchased MTH RailKing WP F3 CZ set for my daughter.
I have purchased many more items beyond the above that I can't remember at the moment.
I stop by there every year or so.
Besides being near the Q, Berwyn has a great mural of 4-8-4 CB&Q #5626 painted on part of their wall. Larry, Tom, & Tim - please post a photograph of your mural & layout !!!
Thank you Tom, Larry and Tim for being a sponsor and welcome aboard! It’s about time!😜
This is my LHS and they are excellent. Great pricing, huge inventory, good at hunting down items on your list, high quality repairs and all around good guys. Stop by on a Saturday and this place is packed with all ages since they have a huge toy department (LEGO, Thomas, slot cars, etc.) in addition to all of the hobby basics. Pre-COVID they had a couple of Thomas tables set up that drew a big crowd of future O gauge modelers.
Call them up and a real person answers the phone. Go ahead and give ‘em a call!
@ CBQ Bill Thanks! Great Idea! Here's the mural. Most people don't look up to see it. It's roughly 25 feet long and 8' tall; done to a quarter scale. Remember those famous murals in all the once great train stations? CUT, Penn Station, etc. We are sure proud out it!

This first pic really sells the store for those who haven’t been. Also there are glass cases just out of the bottom pic, then more cases to the right. The layout is behind this picture, and then there are shelves and shelves behind that! There’s one other big O store in the Chicago area, but it’s so cluttered and trashy. For those who haven’t been, Berwyn’s is a great shop.
Thanks for all the greetings! Seems like the whole forum has been calling us today! Glad everyone got what they where looking for! Here's some requested pictures and a few videos of our current store layout for your viewing pleasure!
