I stayed, as usual, at the "el cheapo" Rodeway Inn in downtown York. Everything was fine, and I plan on staying again. This was the first time I saw a "no rooms available" sign on the entrance door. Aside from the $71. "senior" cost, I appreciate being only 8 minutes from the fairgrounds.

"After going to the show at the Wyndham, we thought about giving that a try."

Like Eddie, we stay at the now Wyndham. Really nice accommodations and close to all York Meet activities.

I have spent more nights in hotel rooms than I want to remember. The Wyndham is the place in York. But, I would make reservations now.

Didn't know where to stay in York (first time), so I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just South of the grounds (about 5 miles). Stayed because we are part of their loyalty program.  Was $159/night, booked about 1 wk or so before the event.

One of the cleaner Holiday Inn Express I've visited. Ended up with a room about the size of an Embassy Suites room.  Their hot breakfast, while standard for HI, is decent enough.

We stayed at the Sheraton Four Points located behind the Round The Clock Diner as we usually do.  Can't remember the cost as we always use our Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints for our room there.  The food there is pretty good, although we didn't eat there this trip.

We always enjoyed staying there, but after this trip they have us as a customer for life.  After checking out on Saturday morning and spending the morning and mid afternoon at the Fairgrounds, we headed to lunch and then the drive home to drop off our goodies and head on out to the Phillies game that evening.

While unloading I noticed we were missing a small bag containing a few of my watches.  In a mild panic as I went to call the hotel, praying they were still there, I noticed a message was left on the answering service.  It was the head housekeeper saying she had found the item and made sure it was secured for when we could return to pick it up.  I called back and the manager said he'd keep it secured until I could pick it up on Sunday, since we were on our way to the ballgame.

So then we drove back to York yesterday morning to get the bag, had lunch at the 'Clock' then drove to Philly for my Granddaughter's 2nd birthday.

If I go with my son again, it will have to have a indoor pool.  I need a hot tub for my aching feet anyway Wyndham may be a good bet.  Stayed at the Comfort Inn off of 83.  Clean and a great FREE breakfast every day.

i definitely saw pros there. That's for certain. For those of you who like it, I tip my hat to you. Lots of people still travel on Carnival Cruise Lines, too. Good deals, I hear.

I still have nightmares. Pros and cons......hahahaha!!!

We stayed at the Wyndham, as did friends of ours. We had a good experience, but our friends, not so much. Turns out they paid $30.00/night more than we did, and they were told by the hotel staff it was because they're TCA members. They asked for the AAA rate, which we had, but the hotel staff refused. They're not staying there in the fall, and more than likely, neither are we. If they're going to charge more simply because we're with TCA, we'll spend our hard-earned $$ somewhere else.  We already have rooms with better rates than Wyndham booked at the Best Western. It definitely pays to shop around.

Wow that pretty much is a dumb move by the hotel.
