Just won this caboose on eBay to go with the MTH SOO Line SW-9 and SW-9 calf unit I got this week. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...K:MEWN:IT&ih=006 Wasn't able to get much out of the seller and wondered if this is scale size and who made it for Peterson's?

I did a google search for petersen supply and the site will not load.
Likely Weaver, and almost assuredly scale.

Box looks like the type used by Crown Electric Trains that was acquired by Weaver a few years ago.
Paul,
Why not give Andy Peterson a call on Monday, he could tell ya everything you need to know about the caboose.
IMHO ...Sam
Paul,
It is a Weaver special run for Petersen's. Their site seems to be down. You can still see it under New Products,I think.

It is a long-ago special run put together by Crown for Petersen. I am pretty sure the actual manufacturer was Atlas/Roco (the old Atlas made in Austria). There is some basic information about it on Petersen's site (when it comes back up), but the best thing to do would probably be to call Andy, as has already been suggested.
There was a time when Crown was able to aquire the old Atlas O cars and paint them in special schemes. I have one of those SOO #2 Cabooses. I bought it at L&J Hobbies 14 years ago when Larry Mudie was there doing special run cars from Weaver and he got cars from Peterson.

Not to digress from the original topic I'd like to include a caboose I acquired from a CSX friend some time ago. The caboose is stamped on the bottom with ATLAS and made in Austria. After a conversation with Peterson Supply it appears that the caboose was manufactured by Roco and decorated by Weaver. The second photo is the 1:1 model for the model.

Well looks like it is going to be scale sized so I will be happy as it matches the paint scheme on the SW-9 and calf units I recently purchased.
