Any one else like Lionel's "Chemical" tank cars?

Back in the fifties, the only company name they used was Gulf. Too bad they didn't do more names like American Flyer did with their chemical tank cars.

I have the Tootsie Roll and Life Savers cars. They are favorites of the kiddies.

I really liked them and had a few of them but sold most of them when I went to 2 rail.  I like the 6315 Gulf so much I converted one to 2 rail.

I grew up in Wyandotte, Michigan and the only tank cars I have are the Wyandotte Chemicals cars made by Lionel. I think I have four, three of the green ones and one white one.

They also used Sunoco.

Not on a chemical tank.

Lionelski, John, this is a great thread, although I’m not a collector of tank cars, I see there place in our nation’s business and Oil and other chemicals are delivered daily by trains. Great ideas and pictures. I’ll add some photos soon of the Oil cars that I have. Happy Railroading Everyone (by the way, I love your layout)

I remember back in the eighties when we were a Lionel service station. I could purchase everything I needed to build tank cars and hoppers. Friends of mind would assemble them on Friday nights at the store.
