I think SIRT had painted one of these in Bucyrus Erie colors

FYI: That model was based on a P&H shovel from the 50's. Standard color from the factory would have been bright yellow carbody, black frame and undercarriage and black boom. You could order any type of special paint color from the factory, if you were willing to pay the extra for it.

 The Lionel truck crane is also based on a P&H crane.

Now the one thing I never liked about those kits was the creeper tracks. I made mine out of styrene here is an example of both I know it's not a Lionel kit which I have two waiting for me to build, maybe this thread is what I need to inspire me. Thanks Roo.

Here is a photo of my shovel that was just delivered to my coal mine by the Pennsy.

I bought this Northwest shovel at a Greenberg Show and have not weathered it yet.

My dad ran a shovel similar to this one when he started in the coal mines here in PA,

Looks a lot like a Northwest Model 95. A company I worked for, had several of those operating up through the early 90's.

They did a nice job on the paint color match.

These are Lionel kits. They snap together and don't look too enticeing out of the box but they make great pieces with a little effort.

gonna need one of these in the northeast over the next couple of days.

Looks like something I could use to make a path through the sand in the bush! Grin. Roo.

Hello Jeff, you are exactly right on the make and model of this shovel.

My Dad operated a Link Belt LS98, he cleaned coal with it and loaded trucks.

I couldn't find a model of the Link Belt LS98 in this scale and price range so it is a Northwest 95 for a tribute to my Dad.

My last shelved project was a rail marine dredger. A Big shovel on a scow! Scow built, machinery house built, but support towers, lots of cables and hoists and the big bucket  waiting for a resumed effort. 

So this was motivating. Thanks guys!
