I enjoy adding scale details to LIONEL PW F3 A and B units.  Adding a third porthole, eliminating vents on B units and such are pretty straight forward.  But how to eliminate the squinty look of the windshield is another thing altogether, at least for me.

Has anyone eliminated the squinty look, and if so, how did you do it?  A perfect solution would be great, but even a substantial, though imperfect, improvement would be welcome.

Carl,

If anyone has, Harry Heike would get my vote. It does not look like it would be an easy task. He might have a few photos showing the process.

You could look for an older pair of shells to practice on before attempting to modify your good pair. (just a thought).

what ever you do please post some pictures of before and after.

David, no problem w/ "before" picture; the "after" picture is another thing entirely.  Anyone have a LIONEL F3A cab in such bad shape they'd donate it?  I'll pay for shipping.

Jon, LIONEL listened.

If you have a PW LIONEL F3A cab that's in bad shape, let me know.  I don't have any A unit cabs that I'm willing to experiment on, but would be glad to have a donor unit to work with.
