lets keep this one civil please as I'd like to know if things are better for those in need of repair on this engine and if it now struts around your layout like a happy peacock?

I believe that Dave Olsen from Lionel said they were expecting the parts in soon, but I doubt anyone has gotten them back yet. I'm sure Dave will post when the repairs are being done.
To add to what John said. In the original "Lionel Mogul Update" thread.
Dave stated that "parts would not be in until the 3rd week of March or so."
Provided the parts arrived when they were supposed to.
I'd probably wait at least a couple more weeks for the repairs to be made and locos to get shipped back.
I think everyone needs to recognize this is a holiday weekend and Dave often responds here on his own time. I'm sure Dave and Lionel will update everyone when he can.
Hi guys, please forgive me if this is old hat, I'm not up to speed on the Moguls and their problems. Please excuse if this is a dumb question but are these problems you guys speak of for the newer Legacy BTO's, or do they include the conventional models as well. I have two of the conventional Moguls and have not run them yet. (the landlord hasn't released any space for me to build a layout yet : ( 
I didn't order one of the Legacy units as I already have the two I spoke about. Maybe I need to set up a carpet-central test track to check them out.
If they are for the Legacy units only, I'm sorry to hear about the problems and I'm sure Lionel will make good on them in due time. I think that they will exhaust all efforts and explore every path to make them right. I know that this is a real PIA to have to put up with this but please give Lionel a chance to make things right and I'm sure they will also do what is the right thing after they have finished and make the necessary refunds. However, I'm sure that they will get them fixed and mine too if they are included in the problems you all speak about. Hopefully, it will be sooner than later.

This is only for the recent legacy moguls.
The conventional versions, as well as the tmcc versions run just fine.
That's what makes these gearbox issues even harder to swallow. This is a locomotive Lionel has made before without problems.
