I was talking to one of the best friends I ever had last week and he ask me if I was coming to the Altoona Train Show on Sunday March 10, 2013. It's being held at the Blair County Convention Center. Weather permitting, I think I may take a trip over the mountain and say hello to some old friends.

Yes, I'll be there.
Im only 20 miles away so im gonna take my dad.He has been asking when im gonna take him to another show.Thank you Jim for the reminder.
Jimmy I would like to be their but it's a bit far for me. Have lots of fun at the show.
Can anyone give a brief description of the show from past shows? This will be my first.
I will be there helping Ed Forsythe man his tables(4). It is a good show with about 50-75 tables and a wide assortment of trains. I am not sure if we will be upstairs or in the downstairs area this year. Either one is good. I would say the room is at least 50x75 so it is not a small show. I would say there is a very good selection of O, HO, AF and standard gauge. You won't be disappointed if you like trains.
The first time I attended this show was back in the early to mid 70's. At that time it was held at the Geseytown firehall. My favorite location was the East Freedom Firehall. One thing for sure I always had a great time. Back in the 70's I remembering purchasing a set of American Flyer Great Nothern F-3's diesels.
Dave:
Same Ed Forsythe from Ed's Trains in Vira near Lewistown? If so, please tell him Curt from Atlanta says hello. I grew up in Lewistown and visit with Ed every summer when we are back in the area seeing family. Like someone else who is from a bit west of there and used to run a train store, Ed always has something that has to follow me home to Atlanta.
Curt
Thanks for the feedback guys.Hope to see a few of you there.
I'm going in the morning. Don't forget to set your clocks ahead a hour.
Well, I will not be attending the Altoona Train Show Sunday. I ended up in the Indiana hospital today for some minor surgery. I hope to see all of you at the fall meet.
Jim
Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Jim, get well soon.
I was not aware of the Altoona show. No matter though, I'll be at a swim meet. Furthermore, I don't need a train show temptress to ply away valuable York funds, like you so successfully did with your March/April & Sep/Oct shop specials so many times right before the York meet.
Take care and remember, trout season is not that far away.
Thanks fellows,
Keystone,
I received a phone from one of my good fishing buddies this evening. He called to let me know they stocked the spotsmen club pond where I fish yesterday. I told him about my surgery and that I wouldn't be fishing for a few days.
Jimmy best wishes for a quick recovery from Dianne and I. We know Peggy will be taking good care of you. Hope it is not to serious.
I thought it was a nice show, went with the wife. Picked up some odds and ends. There was a display also at the Antique depot.
Jimmy, let us know how you are doing.
