I was talking to one of the best friends I ever had last week and he ask me if I was coming to the Altoona Train Show on Sunday March 10, 2013. It's being held at the Blair County Convention Center. Weather permitting, I think I may take a trip over the mountain and say hello to some old friends.

I will be there helping Ed Forsythe man his tables(4).  It is a good show with about 50-75 tables and a wide assortment of trains.  I am not sure if we will be upstairs or in the downstairs area this year.  Either one is good.  I would say the room is at least 50x75 so it is not a small show.  I would say there is a very good selection of O, HO, AF and standard gauge.  You won't be disappointed if you like trains.

The first time I attended this show was back in the early to mid 70's. At that time it was held at the Geseytown firehall. My favorite location was the East Freedom Firehall. One thing for sure I always had a great time. Back in the 70's I remembering purchasing a set of American Flyer Great Nothern F-3's diesels.

Dave:

Same Ed Forsythe from Ed's Trains in Vira near Lewistown?  If so, please tell him Curt from Atlanta says hello.  I grew up in Lewistown and visit with Ed every summer when we are back in the area seeing family.  Like someone else who is from a bit west of there and used to run a train store, Ed always has something that has to follow me home to Atlanta.

Curt

Jim, get well soon.

I was not aware of the Altoona show.  No matter though, I'll be at a swim meet.  Furthermore, I don't need a train show temptress to ply away valuable York funds, like you so successfully did with your March/April & Sep/Oct shop specials so many times right before the York meet.

Take care and remember, trout season is not that far away.
