Sometime ago I picked up a used Lionel 24544 NYC FA-2 powered unit (TMCC/Railsounds). The seller indicated there might be something malfunctioning. It seems to run OK in conventional - haven't tested the TMCC yet. Opening it up, I found a long, loose wire with a slide switch on the end, that I can't identify. Moving the switch appears to have no effect, at least in conventional, and I can't figure out where this wire and switch go. All slide switches on the bottom of the engine (smoke, sound, etc.) are in place, but those are much smaller switches, in any case. Anyone know what this wire and switch are?
