I have a Williams GG-1 and wanting to add command. If I can find someone with a cheap proto2 engine I was wanting to see it the shells could be switched.

As opposed to gutting any twin motored ps-2 chassis for the parts to do the install on the Williams chassis?
You got it Chuck. It maybe cheaper than paying $280.00 to install proto2.

GG-1 frame is a little odd, the nose rounds down at both ends. The only way you MIGHT be able to get away with this is to take a scale MTH PS-2 GG-1. In which case you would already have a scale GG-1 with PS-2 in it. If perchance you found someone with a trashed shell for an MTH PS-2 GG-1 loco you could TRY to figure out a way to attach your shell to it. It is extremely unlikely that the screw holes/bosses will match.

Are they even the same size? I read recently the Williams was not quite exact scale, and who's to say the MTH one is correct. It's an odd hobby where even stuff that's supposed to be scale sized isn't. I will bet they won't match.
