I have an engine that needs to be restored to factory settings. I know this is a long shot, but is there anyone close to Meridian, MS with a DCS system that could help me out? Thanks!

Goshawk,
Wish I could help ya, but I am way up here outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. If you have a hobby shop in that area you might ask them to reset it.

If you have a DCS system, you can easily do it yourself. Revise the title to reflect your need.
Newer PS3 engines, manufactured starting in 2014, may have the capability to perform a Factory Reset using the DCS Remote Commander handheld device, through a combination of button presses (SND, DIR, -). This is made possible by revised firmware in newer (2014) PS3 engines.
If your engine is a newer PS3 model, this may be worth a try.
Goshawk,
130 miles to the nearest trains store, now that is a bummer, when we lost a few of
the big trains stores here in the Pittsburgh, Pa area I thought it was a bummer, but nothing like where you life. Now I actually have to go 3-6 miles to our local train stores, you & your kids definitely have it rough. I will never complain about the short ride to White Oak or Penn Hills again.

We've actually got some REALLY good shops here in the local PIT area. If you're willing to drive 30-40 minutes South/West, there are even a few more. I've said this before; it's what keeps me in O-Gauge. Well, that and this forum. Without them, I would have probably switched back to HO a while ago.
Barry - a good catch - I thought I saw something about this somewhere. Can't find it now, of course.
Hopefully MTH can get it done quickly. If it happens again, try Barry's trick, and if that doesn't work, there are probably those here who would be willing to help for just shipping costs. Provided there's nothing wrong with the engine, it's a 1-2 minute procedure.
Best of luck!!!
I travel for work fairly often and have some favorite stores that I visit while traveling. It gives me something to look forward to when I am out of town.
