Visited Bob's terrific layout this afternoon for a few hours and he was running two 30 car trains! I missed getting more than one pic as he was dismantling them to clear the tracks for Steve's and my trains we had brought.  We ran the 2 Dreyfuss hudsons again with a combination of NYC and generic passenger cars, mostly K-Line aluminum and a beautiful 3Rd Rail observation that has immediately become my favorite passenger car. Now to locate a coach, diner, sleeper, to expand the consist a little.  Have made a few purchases recently from Forum member 'Sara' and she has been terrific to work with and gets items packaged well and on their way immediately.  I took a chance on a single A unit AT&SF E6 that she said 'needs a little cosmetic work' and it is very nice - extremely smooth, sounds great, and pulls strong. Looks very nice and what I like most is that it sits well on it's chassis, quite unlike most of the others that ride too high off their trucks. This beauty and the 80' K-Line cars she was pulling look properly 'hunkered down' on the rails. We had a great time today.IMG_0547IMG_0617IMG_0595IMG_0603IMG_0611

This photo clearly shows the beautiful simulated 'stainless panels' on many Santa Fe diesels that is so striking

Here are some shots of the steamers. The Legacy model runs and sound extremely well, very pleased. The color frankly is really growing on me and has me thinking about learning how to weather a locomotive. This could benefit greatly from a subtle weathering and might be a fun project sometime. The Premiere Hudson is simply excellent in all aspects and it is from back in 2018 I think it is. Consider myself very fortunate to have been able to acquire these two pieces this year. Thanks again Sara...

Nice looking layout

Hi Walt.  Bob is a fairly new friend who I met through NJHR member Steve Maier who moved to Hendersonville NC some years ago. Steve and Bob both have very nice layouts and we get together from time to time. Bob loves long trains with multi diesel power. Funny thing is, he has 50+ diesels and not one steamer!   ...yet.
