Automobiles/ Trucks 1/43-1/50 scale let’s see them

Not sure how many guys here collect Brooklin automobiles, but if you’re interested, there will be a new, North American based Brooklin Collectors Club to be directly affiliated with the Brooklin factory in U.K.

Besides having an already great selection of period cars for many of our modeling interests’/years, we will/should have a direct ear to the factory for what is needed in for the North American market.

If interested, just reply to this post and when official information becomes available, we can just add on to this thread… or start a new one.

I look for Brooklins modeling 1940 and prior, and even sent them an email suggesting they do 1933 and 1934 Hupmobile models, as wildly different, and different from each other.  Got a response (noncommittal).  There were a large number of auto makes in the steam era much of the population never heard of, but one many have was Auburn, that l should have also suggested.  I have seen a  photo of a Auburn waiting at a Rio Grande Southern (the Galloping Goose road) in the period.

I would like to check out Brooklyn cars as well.

I used to like the looks of Brooklins till Neo and Whitebox and others came along with better details but Brooklins are still a classic. For Truck Models you guys need to check out DeHanes models (no longer in business) there 1/55 scale but if you like collecting there nice just off scale

I have to admit, that I never heard of the name before, but I have seen images of this classic design. I guess I just assumed it was some part of one of the big names today.

I would be interested in these as well.

My personal compass has shifted a bit toward to small utility trucks, delivery vans etc. I have enough "nice" cars, but now I need more "working" cars and small trucks.

Randy. Thanks for the complement. It’s a Cadillac but I don’t recall the year maybe a 38 or something I’m not good with years they’ll be somebody come along and tell us they’ve told me before but I forgot I can’t remember anything anymore seems like it

Hirailer, well, its not a 33'-34' but this one is listed on the bay now.

I did spend a little time researching the Hupmobile history and looking forward to discovering more.

David,  The ERTL and Corgi units are marketed as 1:43, Athearns are 1:50 and the Tim's Toys are close to 1:43.  John

Great photos everybody! I am sorry I don't have anything to offer as its been day since I have been to the train room and will probably be another couple weeks as I have to keep an eagle eye on my Tank the inspector! He just had eye surgery.

Back when I was first building the train room addition !

I thought I had finished the tank car kit, but when I cleaned up the box, I found I forgot to add the rear view mirrors. Now, it’s done!

If you are referring to the yellow and black coupe it's a Ford or Mercury, not a Dodge.  It's about a 1955 "Sun Liner" (??? not sure of the model name anymore).  Our local Presbyterian minister had a Mercury in aqua and white, but his didn't have the Continental spare tire.

And your "Jaguar" 540K is a Mercedes 540K.  It's on my "Someday.....maybe" list of cars.

You have good taste.

The yellow and black car was a '55 Ford Crown Victoria with a "glass top", i.e., see through tinted glass over the front seat. Perhaps precurser to the sunroofs offered today.

I'm going to attach pictures from my layout including my firetruck and chief's car show, my House on the layout which depicts my '68 Ford Galaxie fastback, my late wife's Metropolitan, my son's red Jeepster all of which we actually owned. Also, my Cadillac sitting outside a caboose at the Red Caboose Motel near Lancaster Pa. where I visited 2 years ago staying in that Reading RR caboose and my Cadillac.  Also I have a model of a Presidential '56 Cadillac flanked by 2 police cars. Finally my Car Show featuring the Bullitt Mustang, and Sonny Corlione's Lincoln Continental.

There is a 1/43 scale '55 Crown Vic with glass roof manufactured by Yat-Ming and available at DD for less than $8.00 (plus S&H). It's in pink and white.

I was stopped at a traffic light the other day and this pulled up next to me'... Haven't seen one of these babies in a long time..  Years back one of my first jobs was driving one of these for the public works dept..before entering the service'... Real powerful monsters'...👍

Only shot I could get as the light changed and Yes, they started blowing...

Just got some track tools, hand truck, and the most exquisite garage tools I’ve ever seen from Diecast Direct. I mean a scale screwdriver, and pliers for crying out loud! In the track tools there were scale spikes and tie plates! I only have a Plasticville garage, but if you wanted to really detail a garage, this is for you. Yes, they are 1/48.

Nice Ted. Here’s my old Autocar at a truck show. My Dad and I restored it couple months before he passed away. I’m the guy in the background in the green shirt.

Ted Dan’s Models makes these in resin if you can find one. There 1/48 scale

Artie I seen those also. There very nice for the layout very detailed for O scale

Lee that's one sweet Autocar!  I surprised you don't have a model on the layout.
