This is a basic question.
Fastrack has two blocks. ZW for each block. Train runs fine.
BUT: Whistle works on one block not on the other one.
Why? What is the fix?

Make sure the hot is on the center rail on the block that doesn't work.
The ZW has a separate silicon rectifier for the two main throttles and one could be bad. You can try switching the block wiring and see if the failure "follows" the change.
There are several good threads on replacing it with a modern diode on OGR.
Thank you for the suggestions. It was ridiculously simple to make sure the hot wire matched. Sometimes we look at the forest and miss the trees. Many thanks.
