Why not scratchbuild?  I'm sure anything you could build would be much more fun and realistic.

Hi Nicole, good post. I missed this on the Lionel site and I think it's a great idea for Lionel to try and get the young kids into trains. I'm 64 so I'm not to sure how it will hold my interest but I'm not who they are trying to reach with this game. Now, for a young kid like you it's another story.

As for Ace's flame shooter, are you sure that is not the governments idea of a fire fighting engine? In any case it's a great concept, let's just pop some corn as Rich dose and see what our resident lunatics come up with.

I thought O-gauge, and especially Lionel, had "battle trains" for years now....

 

Here's a few years back -- RMT AF switcher, MTH AF tank car, two Lionel missile cars, RMT AF caboose...

 

 

I'm also gamer, as well as model train enthusiast. The game has to have a good story line and good graphics, to capture an audience. A lot of games are out there now, only a few make it to the top, to get any recognition. Average of 5 to 10 games are released every tuesday, of every week, in one media or another. It's a gamble. I might try it. Hopefully this is not a time waster for Lionel.

how many here have received an email from lionel in regards to a new train game app?

 

is this maybe an attempt to draw the younger generation into trains via a game to play on various mobile devices?

 

how many are even interested to load it once available to just see what its all about?

I'm now wondering if next year, the complaints won't be about paint schemes or lack of whistle steam, but more along the lines of.....   'Why doesn't this engine have a flame-thrower?'  or 'My chainsaws are blunt'
