Does anyone know if the Lionel APP (I'm assuming through bluetooth and not hotspot), will allow me to turn the smoke unit on and off? I know that through hotspot mode, individual volume control and smoke is NOT accessible.

If the answer is NO, any suggestions for a Lionel LC or LC+  0-4-0 or 0-6-0 switcher that supports the bluetooth app, and the ability to control the smoke and individual audio elements?????

Thanks, Casper. I just wanted to verify. Unfortunately that switcher isn't available ANYWHERE.

I think I'll have to settle for an A5 0-4-0, and manually turn the smoke unit on and off. I can use the included remote, and the app via Hotspot with the Universal Remote.

Right. Those Lion Chief Plus 2.0 0-6-0T's were major sellers for Lionel. Great little runners and featured packed all at a very attractive price.

I bought the Brooklyn Eastern Terminal version. Smokes like a champ.

FYI, here is how you would turn the smoke on and off as well as adjust the audio in the app. The 0-6-0 also has a switch for smoke.

I first got involved with smart device based app control with BlueRailTrains years ago. As a long term user of Bluetooth based app control,  I must report that the LionChief app is well done and overall works  quite well based on my experience with the 0-6-0 Docksider.  Lionel did a pretty decent job. The BlueRail app can do some things that the LC app cannot, but it's not a major concern.
