I have a Lionel BNSF Polar Ice AC6000(6-31783).  The Electrocoupler stopped working (rear one).  The front one is fine.  What tests can you perform to determine if it needs replacement or just repair?  I have tried it, and get (no sign of current running through it), vibration, etc.  No loose wires that I can determine.  Can someone tell me a check method?   Thanks.

I did unplug the board.  It appears that the wires were crushed and twisted.  I did unravel the black tape around the uncoupler.  I did notice a gap which was probably the culprit.  With a little resolder, it now is working.  The nine volt battery test did fire the coupler..... relieved it wasn't anything deeper then that.  So, the wires to the electrocoupler was the issue.  Add on another to the list of the most common reason for the failure.  Thank you all for the help with the diagnosis.
