Marty - I do have the train and gave it to my son and his young family as their first Christmas train.  It is running fast and proud right now.... They made all of us proud.  Great series through Tampa Bay, Baltimore and the Cardinals.

Question - How many Cardinals does it take to catch Jacoby Ellsbury??

Answer - Nobody knows because they only allow 9 players on the field....

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday at Captain John's

Congratulations to the Red Sox organization and to all of the fans. One of the ESPN pundits reported that this is one of the nicest group of players that he has been around in his long career reporting on MLB.

I am a Braves fan (they did originally come from Boston as do the Red Sox and I am one of the few that have seen them play in Boston, Milwaukee, and in Atlanta at their two fields), but I am very happy for the many around me that are avid Sox fans. In this case, the best team did win.

It's a wonderful feeling to see the Red Sox win their third World Series in nine years. There was a time (2003) that I thought I'd never see it happen. Now if they could just beat Cincy and the Mets in WS rematches, we'll be square with them, too.

A few years ago I was into the rivalry and all that (family originally comes from Queens so we're Yankees fans), but recently I've found myself not really caring anymore. In fact once the Yankees were out I didn't even pay any attention to the rest of the season and only found out about Boston winning by a little blurb on the news. I say why not, I think 86 years of misery was enough punishment. Poor Cubs fans........

I hate the Rays more than anything these days, and they're technically my home team. Anytime I went to see the Yankees play them at Tropicana Field it was the most obnoxious and annoying crowd of redneck fans I've ever seen, and yes even more obnoxious than Yankees fans!

Marty,

I have that set and love it. I also knew that was your voice on the freight sounds. Even though I live in central New Jersey, I've been a Red Sox fan for almost 40 years, right around the time Butch Hobson started playing third base. Ted Williams and Yaz are my favorite players. Even die-hard Yankee fans I know tip their hats to what the Sox did in '04. That won't happen again in my lifetime.
