BRad- try these things:

1. be sure to apply the decals to a glossy surface. Apply 2 thin coats of gloss coat if needed. Let dry

2. Once the decals are applied, use Walthers decal set to "melt" them in. Let each coat dry fully under the warmth of a lamp. Once dry,  check for glazing (silvery shine) in the decals where they may not have fully adhered. Take a razor blade and gently pop bubbles or make light strokes across broader surfaces. Then apply the second coat of decal set. 

3. Once dry, apply another gloss coat and let dry. Then apply the the flat finish or satin...

Do these things and you wont be able to tell whether or not they are decals or paint!
