As stated I have a PS-1 CN C-liner. On my leading A unit the blind wheel set on the back truck seems to hang up in the curves. Is there any way I can change out the blind set for a flanged set. My curves are 0-89 and 0-96. All help greatly appreciated. ....Paul

I don't think you can change out individual axles on MTH locos. It would require a new truck block, and that probably isn't available on your loco. The newer 3-2 MTH locos allow for changing the axles, but nothing in the Protosound production era.
Paul, MTH never did a C Liner in PS-1. Show us a picture. What is your MTH item number? Axles can be changed out on earlier MTH locomotives. The correct wheel puller and press equipment must be used. Not an everyday situation. I did one this week for Lewrail. Lew had a RK E-8 with the drive gear on the axle slipping. I have many junk trucks that I keep handy as donor parts for situations like this. Not my favorite job to do but Lew is a close friend.
As Luke says, don't think you can change any of these, ALCO PA's, FM Trainmasters or EMD E and F unit wheel sets easily. If you run it thru the same area backwards in reverse does it do the same thing? Guessing this is an early unit of some type with the inner most axle having blind wheels? Picture or product number.
Marty I apologize. I had a senior moment, It is a PS-2 not PS-1. So can that make a difference in changing them out. Thanks for the info so far............Paul
Thanks Paul. I have done that myself. In most cases, PS-1 and PS-2 could be the same. Sometime the truck blocks are a bit different to take care of tether plugs but the wheels and axles are the same. I have done those jobs but hide anytime anyone presents the situation. I did one for Lewrail as his engine had special meaning to him and he is a friend.
I've installed spacers (split) between the frame and wheel on each side to keep the wheels from shifting left or right.
