I have a remote that worked when I put it in the box about 3 years ago. I took it out the other day to use is and now it will not turn on. I have put new batteries in but still will not turn on. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

Lifetime warranty. But I wanted to ask if a battery is turned around. Is this a kind of failure previously heard of? I have noticed that the two surface mounted push buttons under the red ctc button needs to be pressed a little harder on some remotes.
