C&O caboose. (Mullet River model)

Interior/porch roof detail.   The roof assemblies/cupola can be removed, to view the interior.

The only interior part this kit did not have was the stove/heater.  Though there is a roof jack/smoke stack.    I used min-wax golden oak stain as the interior finish.  Assembled with white (Elmer's) glue after the stain was applied to all pieces, still in the card stock.

Thanks Mike and Bryan.

The NKP caboose pictures are perfect and just what I needed.  I had seen several images of the outside of the caboose but none of the inside.  If there were more from the other end of caboose inside that would be great as well.

As far as the C&O, I was looking for more of finished interior to model my caboose interior after including the colors.  Hoping there might be some more C&O caboose interior images out there.

Thanks!

Mike

The C&O Historical Society archives have some interior pictures for the Magor steel sided cabooses. The layout of these cabs were pretty similar to the wood sided cabs. Go to:

https://archives.cohs.org/

and search for caboose interior (all words) and it should display a number of pictures. Just look for the ones that say its a Magor cab. If you really want to get more detailed info you can contact the C&OHS and see if they can dig anything up.

I took the pictures below in 1977 at Cass I believe and only have prints.  So I took some poor pictures of the prints with my cell phone. This woodsided cab was probably repainted from red to yellow in the late 50's or early 60's. The interior colors may have changed at the repainting but I sort of doubt it.

nice pics guys, when I worked for the SP, I used to hang out in the cabooses all the time whenever we would have a little down time.  I never went and took pictures of the insides for some reason, guess I always figured I'd always remember what they looked like.  Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, that's a good one.  Good thread and some great pictures and to Big Jim, I remember the brake sticks too, I had one at one time but someone decided they needed it more than me.
