Good luck at the show Alan. That's an impressive looking table.

This week I've been detailing and putting the finishing touches on my bridge project. I've got a MOW crew on the job checking the block signal.

And a Hobo campsite has been established by the side of the tracks.

The workers are from MTH, and the Hobos and the guy up on the signal ladder are from Woodland Scenic.

Nice display Alan, have a good show!

Update on the landscaping on my house model, masking where the grass meets the mulch surrounding the walkway and patio. IMG_2040Next I’m moving to finish a large scenic area on the layout. I started this a few   years ago building up elevation inside a loop of the layout that’s ~14’ in diameter, but it’s sat half finished. The hill is in four pieces, so I can pull them out separately to work on each piece and then move them back into place to tie together.

Bob, that project finished off nicely and the figures are a perfect addition.

Peter,

You recently showed a single track along the edge of your new layout specifically to line up your accessories.  I found that to be very interesting.  Do you feel the concept worked well?

Regards,

Lou N

Yes, Lou.

They are all in the same area which made wiring easy. I also chose not to ballast the area. It will make them easier to change out. I also lowered the roadbed in that area to table top. This is the spur that leads into the accessory area. It was shaved down with a sanding block to get to table top height.

Another thing, that I think you can see, is that I sprayed the spur’s right of way with Rustoleum stone speckled paint. If you make the picture larger, I think you can see it through the ties.

By the way, went to the Greenberg Show in Edison, NJ with 3 friends. It was super crowded and had to hike from the farther parking lot. I didn't buy any locomotives or cars...just a mix of tools. All worthwhile and went to Harold's New York Deli in Edison. It was a great day!

Peter: Is that an icing platform in one of your pictures?

Zac

Yes it is Zac.

It is early Korber……maybe mid-90s. It hasn’t been offered for a long time…..likely pre the Just Trains takeover. Bought it at York maybe 15+ years ago and built it about 2 years ago. The kit included both the ice house and platform.

Here is a picture from January. I am getting ready to leave for Renal Clinic at the VA and will post more pictures later.
