I've done searches but I want to make sure I have the correct answer.
I have a fellow Club Member who has a Chessie U30-C with TMCC and Odyssey (6-18292) and his R2LC seems to have gone out. Will an R4LC from ElectricRR work as a replacement?

Yes, because (the ERR version) is C08 code.
Just make sure you program it for a diesel….. the Aux + ( n ) code for whatever your set up is,…

The ERR R4LC is 100% plug compatible with the Lionel R2LC-C08. However, note that the ERR R4LC is NOT compatible with any Legacy coded R4LC, those would be the -S1 thru -S5 versions. For Legacy locomotive, you really need a Legacy code R4LC.
