I just purchased a williams big boy (very cheap) and wanted to do an err kit to add tmcc. It has a can motor in it and am a little confused on what i need to purchase to make this happen. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You can buy either the DC Commander or the Cruise Commander, either one works with that Williams.
You can add the RailSounds Commander to either of these options.
I'd go for Boxcar Bill's $185 package for the Cruise Commander and RailSounds Commander.
You'll probably have to enhance the tether if you want to control lights, smoke, and the motor.
The dc commander works for engines that run on ac? Im sorry im new to upgrading these engines.
Virtually all 3-rail O-scale runs on AC. The Williams locomotives have a DC can motor, and those are the two products that seem appropriate for your task.

The reverse unit changes the ac to dc before it goes to the motor.
