Here is my Christmas themed layout that I use for my Christmas tree as well. I will be glad when the cold weather gets here.

It is a magic time with family! Friends and trains.
I record sessions on both my DCS and Legacy and have it ready to go for visits. Definetly a people pleaser.
Tired of the heat. Tired of mowing, watering, landscaping, and paying the electric bill to run the AC. Electricity can be used in much better ways in the winter.
I'm ready for the Christmas season too. Been working on a holiday project that really has me in the mood for the white stuff.

I am not ready to rush the season. It was in the high eighties on Wednesday and we had a wonderful time on the lake. Far too soon to have this go away.
PTC:
Those of us with full time layouts have the advantage in this.
I Still enjoy putting a train under the Tree.
I am looking forward to it more this year as I'm currently boxing everything up to move, so no trains for me for about a month.
Also, it gives me the opportunity to make a new and different Christmas layout.
