Jim the engineer has to stop trying to do burnouts with his locomotive.

Did someone say Photoshop???
Speed bumps !
To borrow from Tim Allen: more power!!! Argh; argh; argh!

Nope, NOT "photoshop". This is a pretty old photo, and shows what can happen when a wheel-slip detection/correction system doesn't function properly on an older diesel unit.
dang it Alvin, told you to ease in on it slow...
now we gotta to put new traction tires on...
go grab that bag of tires Alvin... ...Alvin ... ALVIN !!!

Somebody owes LOTS of beer!
I told management not to certify this guy, they never do what we ask!

How are you going to install those traction tires on a 2-Rail model (notice there are no grooves in the wheel treads)?
The other truck must of been non powered!
H W, can't you ever just have fun...

I believe things are generally a bit more serious here on the Real Trains Forum, and your post wasn't really all that "funny" anyway, since it wasn't related to the original poster's photo.
Hot Water put cold water on that spin.
It was this guys fault:
Was this caused by AC or DC traction?

They just don't make sand like they used to.
In order to improve safety the railroad has installed speed bumps in low speed areas
MEMO to MOW employees: Disengage grinding heads BEFORE stopping rail grinding train.

The "Inverted Arch Rail Bridge" never really caught on...
Mr. Godzilla, that sign says please don't touch the trains. Just put it down gently.
It's the GUMBY Railroad!!!!! Now where's POKEY?
Well the picture caption sums this all up with this below.
That'll leave a mark !
OR
Making a lasting impression.
"Do you cut out the RCU's when setting out a hotbox?" Huh?
I told Paul Bunyan not to leave his soldering gun across the tracks!

Hey - Did you hear something?
I saw some pictures years ago of one of those huge UP Centennials (I think) with the
8 wheel trucks that had done this with all 16 wheels. They were having a hell of a time
trying to tow it out.
These aluminum recycling mandates are getting out of hand!!
What actually happened here involves a remote control locomotive.
The locomotive operator was out of sight of the unit when it started slipping. The wheelslip detection circuitry in the locomotive had failed, so the unit just sat there spinning three of the four the axles. I don't know why the fourth axle didn't slip. The wheels generated enough heat to melt the rail!
Rich, isn't that just the imprint of a single three axel truck? Look at the ties for spacing. Most likely there is another one of these "melt downs" off screen to the lower right.
Exactly right BB. When you find the source for this photo you will see additional views which show two sets of three axel melt downs.
I preferred my "inverse arch bridge" theory, myself.
****, I thought them **** pesky canalligator turtles was finally extinct
Can anyone recommend a good soldering gun ?
oh jeez, I forgot you can't say dam on here
I have made thousands and thousands of solder joints with a barrel type soldering
iron. They are much better than guns because they stay hot until you turn them off.
A gun is on off, on off. Takes time to reheat every time you want to use it.
But it depends on your application of course.
