There are always some inconsistentancies or quirks in new catalogs. I haven't combed through to find them in the latest edition, but mention several that I noticed while quickly glancing through the new catalog.

First, the roof color in the picture of the new Milwaukee Road F-3s in that little teaser a bit over a week ago (with the info on the new ZW, I think it was) was black, I'm pretty sure. However, the roof color shown in the catalog is gray. I'd like to know which it will be, although probably noone at Lionel would be able to tell me! Personally, I hope it's black, to match the new (delayed) streamlined Hiawatha cars coming out (I hope shortly!). I would hesitate to preorder these new engines without knowing the answer (although I rarely preorder, at least partly for this reason).

The difference between the catalog picture of the Southern Crescent and the one actually produced has been talked about in other threads - different colored wheels, pilot, and roof color, among other things.

Then there's the passenger cars pictured for the California Zephyr. Only two dome cars? And look at the picture of the domes - they're flush with the top of the cars.

Well, there are plenty of other aberrations folks will notice, I'm sure. There always are some things that escape the proofreaders or are allowed to pass due to deadlines. I would like to know about the roof color on those F-3s, though......

Lets not forget about item descriptions/specifications. The "k line" berks are rated o-54  and 26" long, just like a Lionel berk. The actual k line berks are rated o31 and 24" long. While o31 is extreme I'd like to think these berks should/could possibly negotiate o-36 seeing as the driver diameter is the same as the new light (k line) mikados which are rated o36. I recall the legacy k4s being rated 054 initally then corrected to 0-36. I emailed Lionel on this yesterday morning and surprisingly got a response in minutes"the catalog information is all we have right now,if it says o54,than its o54". One would think they would want to get this information right from the get go as minimum radius requirements  can cut out potetial buyers. I'll wait for the correction.

That's what you get using that new-fangled gizmo. I'm not having any problems steaming along on my 7-year-old desktop.
