Just ordered new Chesapeake Allegheny #1601 from Lionel. The real locomotive is at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn MI - close to where I grew up. Plan to visit it this summer. Love these big steamers! Anybody else order one?

Thinking about #1604 (B&O Museum)....just hoping it doesn't have the "For Progress" logo. JLC version didn't have it, but an earlier version (1999?) of #1601 did.
I have missed a few of these Legacy steamers and they are really hard to find. I am thinking of the UP Challenger and the Milwaukee 261 and 267.
The new one is out of my budget for the moment, but I do have the K-Line(TMCC)(1601) and RailKing(PS1)(1604) versions
I'd really love to buy the new Legacy version, but I can keep my Henry Ford membership up for 4 or 5 years for the same money. I bring quite a few friends and such to the museum each year, and everyone loves it.... I probably make it to the museum or village 10-15 times a year for the last 10 years, and I still find things I've never seen before.
Aside from the avatar pic I have this one as well.

NICKRIV,
I was told by Ryan Kunkle that the "C&O Progress" will not be on the new engines.

That's good, as the C&O did NOT have that "donut logo" on the front of the H-8 locomotives when they were in regular service. The C&O added that to the 1601 prior to donating it to the Henry Ford Museum.
I ordered the #1601 for the same reason. Maybe I'll see if I can eventually snag a #1604 later on to use as an uphill pusher on coal drags, just like they did in the real world. Really need to focus the remainder of my funds on building an actual layout 1st, though.
I own the MTH Premier ps-2 version. The only reason I have it is because the prototype is a favorite of mine from visiting the Henry Ford Museum.
It sits on a shelf over my fireplace because I don't have any coal hoppers or caboose to run with it.
I visited a 2-rail layout a few years that had the $6000 Koh's version in Virginian livery. That would be my dream to own!!!

I got a #1601 as well. Should be here within a week or two! Can't wait. Huge steamers have always been a fascination of mine. Wish I could have seen an Allegheny in operation.
