What do you guys like to use, if anything, to clean a post war Lionel engine? I bought one recently that has a smidge of a whiteish residue on the underside of one of the trucks. I did a search but didn't go beyond page 1.
I keep a toothbrush on hand just for WD-40 application.
It's also very good for polishing Bakelite. When I get a scruffy looking ZW or O22 switches, the first thing I do is spray with WD40 and rub all over with paper towels.
