Sign me up for a pair now Quick question though is it going to have any NLOE logo on it or will it be true ti LIRR paint

LOL I would assume, that since it is to commemorate our 30th anniversary, and that since we are commissioning it's production, that the engine, while accurately painted in a LIRR scheme will have NLOE on it somewhere.

Big Grin I'm going to camp out at the club to make sure I get two sets.

Now, since you guys are Lawn Guylynn, are you also planning on milking some LIRR stuff for the 50th Anniversary of the World's Fair in 2014.

I heard a rumor at Adventurer's Inn when I was getting a hot dog and I just wanted to confirm if it was really a rumor or not. Razz

yes I'm in!!

The 2014 project is still a secret, cannot imagine who would start a rumor like that. Big Grin
LIRR !
I hope Lionel fixes the problems on the next issue.
Crumbling contaminated Chinese pot metal battery cover walk way supports and air hoses.
I had to purchase the LIMITED replacement parts to restore these diesels.
Also the walk should be grey as shown in my re-designed photo.
I used Plastruct to fix the walk support issue.
The orange has too much red in it as well.

SIRT, I hear you! I also experienced a disintegrated battery cover and broken air hoses. Both pieces were replaced. However, I could not purchase the battery cover in the LIRR orange. Instead, the color of the battery cover matches the shell. I'm hoping I can purchase the battery cover in orange when Lionel re-issues the engine in 2012.

Great. I hope you are talking only about east coast paint schemes and roadnames, because MTH still has yet to catalog and release the ALCo RS1 and RS3 in the 1960's era Soo Line paint scheme of Red & White with black lettering. They have recently made the 1940's-1950's era scheme of Maroon & Yellow for Soo Line on an RS1 diesel. Atlas O was about to offer the 1960's scheme for the Soo Line on RS-1, but they are waiting for another round of production to offer it.
