I noticed after posting pictures that the width of large pictures is compressed causing some distortion. This doesn’t happen on the smaller pictures or when you open the picture by clicking on the thumbnail. Dose anybody know the proper height to width ratio or pixel count of the original to avoid this?

Richard,
Good Question. I would like to know too.

490 pixels wide...
I went round 'n round on this with Rich & Allan on this last week. If you're running Internet Explore 8(or earlier) you'll have this problem. IE 9's supposed to cure the problem, but it's not for XP which my home PC is.
I finally relented and downloaded Firefox.

They were right, I was wrong. The larger images now appear normal on my home PC.

This is happening to me too. I don't see it occurring on any other websites that I visit.

I can't challenge that it's an IE problem, but I have to wonder why it only started happening with this new forum. All pictures were perfectly sized on the old forum.

I'm not seeing any evident compression with Safari (on an iMac).
It is very strange. I have IE8 and Firefox on my PC with XP.
When I view the pictures in the forum with IE they are compressed left to right. When I view them with Firefox they are fine.

Apples and oranges. This forum runs on completely different software.
This is yet another reason NOT to use Internet Exploder. The images look fine on literally every other browser on the market except IE.
I do not see the problem and I have IE 9 and windows 7 pro.
maybe its because I have a wide screen?
