Some of you may know that besides having a wonderful train shop,Dave is a member of a pretty popular band called "The Clarks".  They have been making music in these parts for over 30 years.  Soon they will be releasing their 10th album.  Congratulations to you Dave and the members of his band who have stayed together all of these years.  Continued good music (and trains).

I really have to visit your shop soon,it has been too long!

In addition to being a talented modeler, accomplished musician with The Clarks, my go-to local train dealer, and a wonderful friend, Dave was also Best Man at my wedding. You'll see more of Dave's fine modeling work in our October/November issue, along with the work of another good friend, Norm Charbonneau. Wendy and I plan to be in Pittsburgh this month for the Stage AE debut of The Clarks new album (it's a winner), and also on hand when they appear in Youngstown on June 28.

I didn't believe for one minute that Dave's modeling skills was all he was good at but wasn't quite sure what other gifts he possessed. When you think of it, it all makes sense. Music and model railroading both touch the right side, creative side, of the brain (I needed that logic for myself). You are what we call a true artist. The thing about it is there is not much a guy like you can touch that will not be done with some level of fidelity. You're stuck with it Dave!

Congrats man on the new music project!

Dave

Testament to why Dave would take on the challenge of running a LHS, anyone who can have the fortitude to go into music and stick with it any length of time (let along 30 years!)  knows the challenges with running a LHS......one of the biggest things? The naysayers "you'll never make a dime in music, you will starve to death, music is so over......." along with "An LHS? never gonna make it, the internet will kill you, regulations and taxes will kill you, customers are terrible, kids will come in and smash all your merchandise".....and both, of course, bring a joy and fun into our lives, while some sadly consider things like music or trains "frivolous", the fact is it is those things that can make life worth living
