Hello. I have a 40 year Lionel Diesel Engine that was given to me when I was a kid. It is a very basic engine. It was all that my family could afford. I would like to add a diesel horn to it. I was also wondering whether a fan driven smoke unit could be added to it. Finally, I was wondering whether it could be converted to remote control via Lionel TMCC, Legacy, or LCS?

Yes to all! I have. Lionel GP9 PennCentral that was a Christmas gift from Santa, it now has full TMCC……rock-on!
Did you pay someone to convert it? If so, who did it? If you did it, what parts did you use?

Look at 3rd Rail- ERR. If the engine has a pullmor motor, then a AC Commander will give you full TMCC control.
The instructions are well done and easy to follow.
