Stephen.
These installations are not hard to do, you can easily install the motor drivers yourself. If you would rather have the work done by someone else you can go to the Electric Railroad website. they have a list of businesses that do the installs and they are all over the country. I am not sure but "boxcarbill" may also do these. He is on this forum.

Steve,

Not sure where you are referring to when you say "upstate" as upstate NY is huge - almost 7 million acres in the Adirondack Park alone (bigger than the state of RI!). Plus to many who live in NYC or on Long Island, "upstate" means anything north of the Bronx!

Anyway, i've done dozens of ERR (and before that Digital Dynamics) conversions over the years and would be more than willing to give you a hand in doing yours if you're in the neighborhood. Usually the hardest part of these is taking apart and putting back together the engine and insulating the tender (if steam) as opposed to doing the actual install.

If i can help contact me off the forum; email is in my profile.

Yep your right, my home is in the town of Shawangunk it,s near New Paltz and my camp is west in Deposit. Thank,s for your offer I will contact you if I run into problems. You know I have been away from the hobby for about twenty years. The changes can be overwhelming at times but since joining the forum and talking with so many wonderful people and getting their support how can I not accomplish my goal. Thank You and all forum members for their support.  Steve

Steve,
When you do get around to doing the install make sure that you have one of the anti-static mats to work on. Radio Shack sells them for about $20.00, you will avoid a ton of problems by using it, you don't want stray static charge wiping out the motor driver.

I agree with what was said earlier, a question asked is not stupid, only the ones our pride wont let us ask. For the most the people on this forum are wonderful people and they will not mock a person who is looking for information that may be second nature to them. Yes as was replied earlier it goes to the ground hole in the wall outlet.
