Another great conversion. I've lost track of how many vehicles you have, but it's quite an interesting stable you have.
Lee,
way cool, Ive seen this done with
other toy trolleys, but your is awesome.
Lee very nicely done. When is the overhead wiring going up?
I didn't want overhead wires and all that mess, but I am glad you asked because I did think about my answer, should someone ask . . .
It's a Gyrobus: Oerlikon developed them in the 1940s. It it electric powered byt stores energy in a spinning flywheel that is "re-charged" during stops at each end of the trolley line. They were used in Switzerland for a while and I always thought it was a very nifty idea that should be tried again now that flywheel technology has developed much farther with carbon fiber, etc.
Another great conversion Lee! Runs smooth! Thanks for sharing, Terry
As always, very impressive, Lee.
Lee:
Welcome to the trolley jollies! As usual, another great kit-bashing job!
But you need to get one of these 3 Corgi’s in the attached photos to add some Pittsburgh flavor! The red and cream one is a replica of the type that ran into East Pittsburgh on routes 55, 64 and 87.
Regards,
Bill
