I wanted to ask for some advice/suggestions on possibly converting GGD Super Chief cars (1937 and '38 sets) from 3-rail to 2-rail operation.
(1) What wheel sets are available/recommended for a 2-rail conversion, and do the stock GGD trucks use ball bearings?
(2): Do the 3-rail cars already include mounting pads for KD couplers?

I have a three-rail GGD heavyweight observation that has the K-D mounting pads. Maybe GGD has two-rail trucks for separate sale, give them a call/email.
Golden Gate Depot has 2 rail, 36” wheelsets for ball bearings listed on their site under new announcements. $8.00 per axle. You could contact them to see what you need before you order.
Sometimes you can find other modelers looking to go the other way from 2 rail to 3 and can work out a trade. Try running an add on OGR.
