Here's a little Sunday reading for toy train friends near and far...warning: only for those who can take a joke! For anyone who ever read a review in a toy train mag...

I loved it
a true waste of internet space and anyones time reading it-jim
It was two things - dumb and dumber. Sorry I wasted the couple of minutes it took to read it.
Oh, yeah, it wasn't even slightly humorous. Further, the slap at "Uncle Ahmed" was in extremely poor taste.
Not very good, I stopped reading after the first page And just scanned the rest. I thought it was supposed to be funny.
Ummmm. Not sure what to think.
Thanks.
Well I enjoyed it. But then, I do have a sense of humour.

My only though is...What the h*** is that all about?
Should have trusted the above posts and saved my time.
Not very funny at all!

Who is Uncle Ahmed, guess that one went right past
dumb and dumber.
Larry
Not sure where I misplaced my sense of humor, but it's sure not around for this one.
Wow. Just...wow.
"dumb and dumber."

I was hoping I wasn't the only one that didn't think it was funny.
As they say when the midfield passes back to the goalie.....
BORING.....DEPLORING
(sorry but you asked us to read it)

Yea, that's why I always liked girls. As for my male cohorts, come on guys "lighten-up".

It's not really a matter of "lightening up." It's just a lame piece of work, and I simply don't see the humor in it. I wish I could, and will welcome an explanation of where I might find it.
I can appreciate the effort. I'm not too sure about the result. A superflous propensity for bombastic vocabulary maybe? You may have benefited from Allan Miller's editing skills. But by the sounds of it, you may have gotten edited out. Cheers.
"warning: only for those who can take a joke"
Okay so what's the punch line?
Something actually has to be funny in the first place, even for those that do have a sense of humor.

I don't know Alan, I took it as a weak attempt at a parody of our tendency to over think the value of our toys. When you compare it to some of the stuff that they try to pass off as political humor on late night TV it's worth a shrug and a smile.
Oh yea, who is "Uncle Ahmed"? I did not get that reference at all.
When I think of CTT, the following words come to mind, because they're used over and over and over. Look through any issue and see for yourself.
"Rig"
"Insist"
"Delight"
"Don't overlook"
Seriously, invest in a Thesaurus, boys.

I've got a model of a Tyrannosaurus, will that do?
Thomas vs Tootle, now thats funny!
Chris,
With my PTT requisition in hand, I lit out for Uncle Ahmed's Classic Toy Trains
where, after being aggressively questioned as only Uncle Ahmed can do, I scored two absolutely new, triple-plus-overmint Lionel Sweatbands.
...
Unfortunately for me, Uncle Ahmed's haggling genes were in the wash. He stated that the package had been opened, but assured me "only by store personnel". If I wanted it, I had to pay full list
Those 7 words made me chuckle out loud. Keep it simple perhaps. I think you should edit it yourself and resubmit a new version for review. Whaddaya think guys?

I would actually read that.
Pretty clever, if wordy. Do you think perhaps they're having a bit of fun at the expense of some of the lame products (cheap wristwatches, hot chocolate & cookies) Lionel has licensed?
Well I enjoyed it. But then, I do have a sense of humour.
So do I. I thought it was funny.

BINGO! You "get it" Mario!
Evidently some don't like looking in a mirror...
