I have stored several custom sounds (passenger station sounds specific to my environment). While I was recording a session using the Record/Playback feature for future playback, I was unable to use my custom sounds. Whenever I pressed the menu key to access the custom sounds all I get is the soft key layout for the recording session (rec-sav-ply-lop). I seem to be unable to access the custom sound menus. Am I doing something wrong or is it a function of the DCS system to not allow using custom sounds during a recording session?

Don't know, I know the labor chuff doesn't work in the recording. but custom sounds?? Maybe Barry or someone else knows??
Bob,
What you're seeing is the normal behavior of recording a session. In order to allow you to go right back to the Record/Playback menu to stop a recording quickly, DCS is precluding using any other menu commands while recording a session.
While I cannot tell you if this was intentional on the part of the developers or just an oversight, I can tell you that this is, indeed, the way it's supposed to work.
Thanks Barry. I didn't see it in your book but I figured I would ask anyway.
Bob,
I didn't see it in your book but I figured I would ask anyway.
The book describes the behavior, however, it doesn't elaborate about it.
