Trying to add Consumer Loader 2.3 on windows 7computer in order to transfer the sound file and have a problem with the TIU finding the engine. I have downloaded the drivers. The loader has: auto search for TIU, use COM1 for TIU and Use COM3 for TIU (but COM3 is grayed out and unavailable. In the device manager I have communications port COM1 and USB serial port COM3. How do I get them in sync? Thanks.

Try going into device manager and click on the USB Serial port. Click on Port Settings and then Advanced. On the next screen on the bottom left change the Com Port Number. Remember what Number you give it and on the loader under options Click on that Com Number.
I had a problem with mine and ended up setting my usb adapter to Com18. Never had a problem since for both DCS and Legacy
Although the DCS loader has listings above COM1, use Com1 or Com2. The problem is that everything above Com2 is a crap-shoot because there always seem to be interrupt conflicts even though Windows is supposed to take care of it automatically.
Ladd,
In order to transfer sound files under Windows 7, you must installMicrosoft's .NET software, if it isn't already installed.
You can visit this link to determine what version of .NET you need.
NET 3.5 is included in the basic Windows 7 installation, I'd be thinking perhaps the USB driver or configuration is the issue.
