Just received my recent order of the DCS Remote Control System and although I have not looked through the manual I just was wondering what wires are necessary to hookup the system. Any kind of special wires necessary? I received the remote system with the TIU and have the AIU on backorder as well. I am far from he process of hooking up the system as I'm just getting started designing my layout. I have always used conventional modes of control ZW's and I am really looking forward to the DCS. I anticipate some problems as some have indicated on the forum, but it seems the positives outweigh the negatives when it comes to using the DCS System. Any tips on wiring would be appreciated. Thanks

Problems are in a minority of cases. When I got DCS 10 years ago, I simply dropped it into the circuit between transformers and layout. I'm sure you've seen the pitches for Barry's book elsewhere on the forum.
Dan,

Dan;
Since you just got it, it should be a Rev L.
Just put it in line between the transformer and track. (Fixed 1 in and out)
Then go to the Far end of the layout and isolate the center rail there.
Run your Trains.
I run a 11' x 23' Figure 8 with 5 dead end sidings.
Even using an older DCS system I have no significant problems.
And I didn't even make the Isolation yet. I know it will fix my one weak area but am working on a total layout rebuild so I have not bothered.
And as above, I totally recommend Barry's book. It is THE BEST DCS help in existence.
Buy it on MTH's website or email Barry, he may have a few.

Thanks for the kind words - they're most appreciated. However, I don't sell either version of the book directly. Both versions, print and eBook, may be ordered via MTH at this link:
