Hard to say but yes it is possible. But PS-32 was not a factory used board. It is a repair board. This was a PS-3 engine so what is installed? G
yes George it already had the diesel board already installed when I looked at it with the 40 pin connector just like comes in the ps 3 diesel board kit . I thought that was the case sure surprised me.and the owner told me Mth in Maryland use to fix his repairs! maybe they installed the board???

The only board with a 40 pin connector is the PS/3 diesel board, that's the board that comes in a PS/3 diesel. The PS3/2 is a two-board stack.
what is the part number for the ps3 diesel board?
Your the tech, look in you book Alan. This is basic stuff. It was produced as a PS-3 diesel. You stated it has a PS-32 in your title. Yet your talking about PS-3 40 pin which is what it should have. Sounds like you have a PS-3 diesel that does not see DCS signal. G
yes George it dos not work with dcs. it did once when customer used it it started up and then shut down and did not work again. sometimes if he let it sit over night it would work again . when I got it and tried it it started up and shut down and then would not work again sounds I did sounds for proper seconds . so I tried conventional reset and heard 2 toots so I know it took reset. so then I deleted engines and tried reading engines but would not find engine again. sometimes it now will start up in conventional and sometimes it won't I think board is bad. like I told u found a pinched wire in speaker area blk wire that went for slide switch to center contact on the dcs switch which is dcc or dcs slide switch ,this wire I found pinched and touching ground! believe this is what caused board failure!
Make sure signal transformer clear, make sure DCS wires have good continuity between them on pin 1 to 40. Make sure wire bundle above caps. IF still no joy it most likely is a defective board. I have PS-3 boards and also PS-2 5V and 3V that won't see DCS signal even though they work fine in conventional. So it can happen. G
