Friend and I were running trains on club layout and I told him the MTH logs looked like plastic. I told him how I would do it. His solution was had me the log load and said Fix It.
Only used 4 colors base coat in black to fill in voids wipe off most of black with rag and lacquer thinner, dry brush on prr red olive drab greenm, and a little light beige. The pictures don’t show the outcome well but this is how they turned out.

Nice work. Always amazes me that doing something like that makes a huge difference in the feal of a layout. They will like awesome rolling by in the tracks. Great idea.
