Does anyone know what the diameter of this track is? I put a loop together and measured 35” center rail to center rail. Close to 37” outside rail. Don’t know if I’m just not putting it together tight enough. Maybe it was meant to use with a half track (a little over 5 1/2”) to make the spacing 10” for a 31” inner loop. Going to use it as the outside loop on the Christmas layout this year.

The best thing to do is to make a complete circle. Get the joints between track sections as tight as you practically can. Then measure directly across the circle at every opposing pair of joints, and average the measurements.
Tubular track has always had a little "wiggle room." Obviously if you don't plug the pins in all the way, the resulting circle will be larger (and your traction tires will take a beating from the sharp exposed rail edges!) My $.02.
Thanks Ted. Will do again and make sure everything is tighter. On a side note, first time I used Menards. Went together nicely and everything stayed together. Was able to pick up the circle and nothing came loose.
I use Menards tubular for my ‘round the tree layout at Christmas. I find it’s hit or miss as far as the snugness of the track connections. I simply use rubber bands around the ties of adjoining pieces to hold them firmly together. Works like a champ
I have used zip ties and they really hold together!!
