Ron;
I had something similar happen earlier today... if it is the same issue, you didn't do anything wrong. If you get that frayed out effect, scroll up to the top of the page. In my case, there was an info message form OGR. If you close the message, the gray goes away.
It might be something with that thread. I had the same thing happen.

The site has been under maintenance and upgrades.
What is "bring down"? Drag and drop? Did you try copy and paste? Did you try saving the picture to your device and then add as an attachment?
What device are you on?
What browser are you using?
If you want tech to answer those details are helpful.
Copy and paste the brass B8a picture, iPad, Safari. I normally don't copy/paste and it looks like it failed since no picture is in my post.
UPDATE: I'm on my windows desktop using Explorer browser. It seems other forum members can post to the topic with no issue, so I am the only one experiencing problems. I just open the topic and no change for me: entire topic is mostly grayed out where I can see each post but like reading in the dark. I can not activate any link; I've clicked everywhere and the only thing I can do is hit the bowser's back arrow to get out of the topic. Anyway, I'm glad others can still post to it.
Well, that's odd. I am getting it, too. Firefox on Windows 10. The whole screen is grayed out, and I get the little hand pointer, as though the cursor is hovering over a link. I get that hand pointer everywhere on the page, but clicking does nothing. This is the only thread this happens with. Odd.
I posted a weird looking loco on that thread about an hour ago. All dark gray screen for me too. I'm using Opera browser on Ubuntu Mate operating system.
Ok, I see the issue now - it's only page #2 - I can view page 1 just fine - CAPPILOT- your post looks good- I see five loco photos -
anyway - I reported the page 2 issue
Whenever I do something bad while posting it gets deleted and depending on how bad, I get an email from Rich or Alan
I have alerted Hoopla Tech Support about this.
Yes Jon, I own that naughtiness
This has been fixed.
Cappilot, when you tried to bring the picture in from the other post, you accidentally copied some html code that hosed up the page. In the future, if you want to copy a photo from another post and post it in a new thread, do it this way:
- Place your mouse over the image you want to copy.
- RIGHT CLICK and choose COPY IMAGE LOCATION
(Do NOT choose "COPY IMAGE") - Go to the post where you want this image to appear.
- Place your cursor where you want the image to appear.
- Hit <CNTRL-V> to paste the image into the post.
- The result is this:
- I copied this image from the "Oddball..." thread and posted it here using this method.
Rich,
Thank you. If I do that again, I will use your procedure. I normally save to my computer than attach it.
Never knew what COPY IMAGE LOCATION did. Now I know (I think).

In a case like this, the image you want to use is already on the web someplace. There is no need to copy it, save it and upload it again as an attachment.
When you "COPY IMAGE LOCATION" you are copying (in the background) the web address (the URL) of where that image is hosted on the web. When you paste that code into your new post, the image will appear because it is LINKED to the original location on the web where it was originally posted.

The code that places this image here looks like this:
<img src="http://ogaugerr.com/wp-content/uploads/297.jpg" />.
The image is hosted at ogaugerr.com, in the wp-content/uploads folder and the file name is 297.jpg.There ya go...
Wow... Continuing Education includes Computer/Internet issues!!! I always wondered what that copy image location meant - now I know!!! Thanks Rich.
Jdaddy, I havent been in the hot seat for a while so Id better knock on wood.
