How do I disconnect the engine from the tender without damaging the wireless drawbar.

Grasp the tender and engine firmly, and force the drawbar down and out of the socket on the tender.
Barry, I'm very afraid of breaking the drawbar or the connection to the tender. Your directions are pretty vauge. Can you elaborate on where to grip. Seems like I should be able to pull on the connector under the tender but can't figure out how to do that without rolling the whole train on it's side. Like many others, I am pretty disgusted with this set up. I just got a new Penn KS4 and I don't want to break the first time I want to adjust the sound volume. Any additional help would be appreciated.

Gene,
Hold the engine down, immobile, against the rails with your dominant hand and do the same to the tender with your other hand. Now, with the index finger of the engine hand, press down on the tender end of the drawbar, just to the inside of the drawbar's socket, until the socket disengages from the tender's plug.
As long as all forces being exerted are straight down, you shouldn't damage the drawbar.
Run it a little while, sometimes they come loose on their own!
Thanks guys. Followed Barry’s directions and it worked fine. I REALLY appreciate the help.
