I have a MTH SD60E Item #20-20597-1. When should the ditch lights be on? I had an electrical problem and they were on all the time after that. I don't remember them being on all the time before the electrical problem. I did a feature reset and when I started it up immediately after they were off. I started it up a couple of days later and they were on again. I might be thinking there is a problem when there really is none since I didn't know the parameters of the ditch light operations. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks, Don

You can change the settings in the menu. Always on, always off, or alternating during the horn blow.

If you mean that they turn on when the engine first gets power, even before the engine is started up, the FETs for the ditch lights are possibly blown and shorted to let track power straight through.
If this is the case, the Ditch Lights Control Menu function will not work and, eventually, the ditch light LEDs may burn out.
I'm sorry, but this is on engine 20-2474-1. I grabbed the wrong box. The ditch lights don't start up when the track gets power, but as soon as I start the engine up they start up.
The ditch lights either come on with the horn, or when the engine starts moving if they are set to on.
I went into "edit ditch lights" and used the S1 pushbutton and turned them off. When I started the engine back up they were still on. This engine is part of a lash up. Do I need to delete the lashup then try to change ditch light settings?
Possibly. G
